3000 BC Sarasvati-Sindhu civilization, Increased rainfall.
2600 BC Cities develop Indus Valley was verdant, forested, and teeming with wildlife.
It was wetter too.
2600-1900 BC Indus Civilization - Harappan Culture Integration Era
2500-2200 BC Pre-Harappan
2200/1700 BC Harappan times
1900-1300 BC Late Harappan Period

Signs of decline

1800 BC

Cities abandoned.  Climate changed, cooler and dryer. The region in which the river's waters formerly arose is known to be geologically active, and there is evidence of major tectonic events at the time the Indus civilization collapsed into regional cultures.
