Evolutionary Timeline   Project

Objective(s):
Student will complete a Scientist Biography Card on each of the scientists.
Student will produce a timeline on the development the Theory of Evolution.
Directions:
  • You will complete a Scientist Biography on each of the listed individuals. See the list in Table 2.  This would count as one SciQuest: Extra Credit project

    and then.....
  • You can construct a timeline by transferring the information to a strip of cash register tape. Requirements are as follow:
    • Timeline covers the years 1700 - 1930. 
    • Scale: One cm = one year.
    • Begin by drawing a line down the cash register tape.
    • Make your 1 cm marks.
    • Label every 10 years beginning with 1700 and ending with 1930.
    • Timeline will show the life span of each individual. (Year of birth and death)
      • all years of birth, in one color, will appear above the line.
      • all years of death, in a different color, will appear below the line
    • A picture of each scientist will be on the paper.
    • A brief paragraph of each scientist's contribution(s) will accompany their picture.
  • Pick up 11 Biography Sheets / group.
  • Staple this cover sheet on top of the biography sheets when you hand them in.
